Saturday's night ain't alright

"A bad lifestyle"
That's what they always say when you don't sleep enough.
Well I found a "Worse lifestyle"
That's when you have no free time at all during workdays and then the lazy time of not doing anything, weekend, comes.

I say, you need to have your time settled. Do stuff when you have time and do just as much stuff as you can to stay busy, but not overworked.

Most people can't even stay busy.
But I lately had a horseload of stuff to do.
And worrying about making everything on time leads to one thing only:
Making everything on time.
And then, you don't have a drop, a dash, a pinch of energy left.
So you just walk around, sit around, lay around. Doing so much, yet nothing worthy.

Our happy childhood

I'll tell you why people consider their childhood or school years the happiest time of their lives.

It's the time of our lives that we can look back to, feeling proud for all the shit we've come through to a successful end.

But if the end of it is successful, doesn't that guarantee that the shit that goes down now is coming to the right way? I mean - it's all based on the best possible presumptions.

Ah, whatever. I should be learning French now, for the exams.
Not too badass enough to be able to switch 3 languages from one to another at the same time and still make sense.

I want to be little Ahmed: A report from the Cradle of civilization

I want to be little Ahmed.
My father, Alladin, would have a shop in Spices Bazaar in middle of Istanbul.

I’d spend my youth days crawling between the legs of strangers and eating pistachios straight from our shop and drinking apple tea.

When I’d have grown up to a age of a teenager I would help my father sell herbal teas, cheeses, spices, turkish delight and nuts. I’d have started to learn English. I wouldn’t be a good salesman yet, but I’d get better and better fast.

When I’d be a man in middle years, I’d kiss my wife every morning on her burka and get to my shop in the Spices Bazaar. There I’ll yell at customers to get them to buy my wares until my throat would be sore. Then I’ll go to smoke some water pipe, drink some apple tea and play some backgammon.

When I’d get older, I’d leave my shop to my soldest son. I’d stay at home with his and mine wife and I’d only go out to mosque. There I’d spent hours at a time, I might even get used to the terrible smell of feet. I’d lie on the soft carpet and enjoy the cool climate. It’d be my second home, for when I’d need to escape the busy life around. I’d reminiscence about the old days and I’d be looking up to the roof with all its majestic decorations.

The day would come, that I’d be lying on my deathbed. I’d ask my wife to put down her burka for the last time, so I could see her hair. She’d open the window. A cool summer breeze would wash my face. And then, it would wash my soul away as well. That moment, I’d be the happiest person that ever lived.

And then, I’d finally get to meet my maker. It wouldn’t be a thing I’d be scared of the whole life for I’d be sure about his might and appreciation for all the good I’ve done.I’d be eager to meet his Divinity and bow.

The media distribution of digital age

Yesterday Garbage put out their favorite songs playlist on MOG. I wanted to check it out. When I connected some sort of flash player started loading. Then it stopped and told me to use a "modern browser", such as Firefox or Chrome. I have Opera, which is 99 % similar in showing webpages like these two mentioned (in fact, Opera and Firefox have more in common than these two supported by MOG).

I loaded up my RockMelt, which is a browser based on Chromium core. The player loaded, but only to tell me that I can't view MOG outside US.

I tried Pandora. It's the same. Only they apologize and promise to "set things right" as soon as possible. Instead of insulting you and the browser you use, like MOG does.

Today Diablo Swing Orchestra uploaded their new single exclusively to Spotify. Guess what? US only.

I'll tell you who hurts the music industry the most. Who is responsible for most of intellectual property infringement. It's the copyright holders.

There is NO legal way for me to get the DSO single.
And there's NO way at all for me to see the Garbage playlist. I could find new groups and buy their albums.

With the great number of quality artists and music nowadays the classic market model - record stores and CDs is unsustainable. The price could never be brought down enough to make money. Quite the opposite, price would rise whereas the sales would fall down.
You can see that in CZ. There is no online way to get the albums, which results in monopoly of record stores, pretty much of one record store chain. The albums are, and now I am not kidding at all, up to 10 TIMES AS EXPENSIVE AS IN GB OR US.
I could buy albums from US or pretty much anywhere and get it shipped overseas. The shipping price would be far higher than the price of the album itself, but it would still be a lot cheaper than buying it here.

I support online services such as the aforementioned music ones - Spotify or Pandora and as well the movie services, such as netflix. I see the future of digital media there. The expenses are far lesser and the margin of the companies behind it is way smaller, which means cheaper and more money for artists.

I am worried, though, that re-writing all the copyright deals or even laws will take a long time. Since this situation is still quite convenient for the record stores owners, we're gonna have to go through a crisis to escape this model.
Expect the high numbers of piracy even rise.
That is, of course, if the service providers based mostly in US won't step up. Which I don't expect to happen anytime in close future, since they have enough troubles now gaining a higher percentage of music/movie sales in US. When there's no room to expand there, they'll move onto smaller markets, such as the European markets are.

You gotta do it anyway. Might as well make it count.

It's more than a week now, since I last went to sleep before 2 AM.
This load is killing me.
But I guess I'm to blame.
So I'll make it a plus.

A delicate man in a hysterical realm.

...of emotional landslide in physical terms.
It gets extremely funny when you realize what the song is about.
